Combining
Activism with Artistry, Patricia Causey is an Actor, Singer, Writer,
Composer, Producer, Director, and Stage Manager. Her company,
Gathering Grove Productions, focuses on "Working for Human Rights
through the Arts" on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Patricia
began ballet and gymnastics at age 2 and has been on stage from the age of
7. She is a multi-talented
performer, creator, and producer. She
is an operatically trained coloratura soprano with a 4-octave range, having
studied with Dr. Renée J. Sokol and Dr. Rhonda Fisher. |

Music
is integral to Patricia’s work. Her
original musical, Witchcraze,
deals with Women's Rights, protection of the First Amendment, and tolerance
for people who are different. Her
new work-in-progress is a children's musical that highlights various Women
in history. Patricia also wrote
three original songs for her original screenplay, Voices On The Wind,
that takes place on Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.

In
February 2006, she directed and produced The
Vagina Monologues,
raising $5,000 for a local women's shelter/rape crisis center.
Patricia is also making a documentary, Surviving
KATRINA, to
tell the stories of the Mississippi Gulf Coast where Katrina did her worst
damage.

Patricia
is currently the Production Stage Manager for the new show, I Write
the Songs, at the Imperial Palace Casino-Resort-Spa, working with
New York Producers Gary Waldman and Jamison Troutman and Musical Director
Phil Hinton.
Patricia was most recently seen as a “Soloist” with the Gulf Coast Messiah's Easter
2007 program.
Some of Patricia's most enjoyable roles include “Cinderella's
Stepmother” in Into
the Woods,
“Fraulein Kost” in Cabaret,
“Peg” in Bathroom
Humor, “Agnes
Cohan” in George
M, “Go-To-Hell
Kitty” in Chicago,
“Ethel Toffelmeier” in The
Music Man,
“Ermengarde Vandergelder” in Hello,
Dolly!, among
many others.

A
personal highlight includes performing in The
Trial of the Big Bad Wolf
that won 12 awards
regionally before being chosen to represent the United States at the
Ch’un Chon International Theatre Festival in Korea where the show won
the Grand Prize. Her favorite
role on stage, thus far, was “Marion” in On
Tidy Endings,
which she co-directed.

Other
Stage Manager credits include professional repertory productions of Footloose,
I’m Not Rappaport,
and The
Night of the Iguana,
and the semi-professional Gulf Coast Opera’s H.M.S.
Pinafore. Working with New York Director Richard Harden earned her two
offers for Stage Manager work in New York.
She was the Backstage Assistant to the Stage Manager for the III,
IV,
and V
USA International Ballet Competitions
in Jackson, MS (1986, 1990, 1994).

Patricia has worked as a Stage Manager, House Manager, and Backstage Technician on
numerous occasions at the Biloxi Saenger for touring repertory groups as
well as the Gulf Coast Symphony. She
has also worked on Set and Fly Crews, as a Vocal Coach, Make-Up
Designer, Dresser, Assistant Choreographer, to name a few.

Patricia was the
Costumer for a local production of Cabaret and Assistant
Costumer for the Gulf Coast Opera’s Madama Butterfly.
She also worked as the Prop Mistress for Ballet Hysell's Giselle and
worked in the Costume Shop and Backstage for Ballet Mississippi under the
Artistic Direction of Fernando Bujones.

Patricia is a true lover of the arts and appreciates the hard work behind
the scenes as well as the thrill of being in the spotlight on stage.
